Architectural Remodel Project Progress

We pleased to be seeing lots of progress on our remodel project at 560 Rhode Island in San Francisco. It’s always exciting to see our architecture come to life! Below are some sneak preview photos of construction that begin to show how elements of this design will look when complete. Enjoy!

  • Front Door Bridge – A view of the front door is framed by looking back over the bridge and through the accordion doors. The openness and flow through the home, from entry to backyard, is revealed.
  • Entry – Rhythmic shadows are created by the open-riser stair. A continuous glass rail from entry to third floor will create a vertical light-well down to the first floor.
  • Living Room – Light floods the space. Floor to ceiling, accordion doors open onto the back deck. A long, horizontal clerestory and skylight bring even more light into the living room.
  • Kitchen – Looking back toward the entrance, the open kitchen will provide visual connection between the living and dining rooms. A generous island mediates the spaces, while a horizontal fireplace in the dining room mirrors the living room clerestory.
  • Glass Deck – Walkable glass embedded in the back deck allows more light to flood the courtyard. A dramatic bridge from the living room over the courtyard provides access to the backyard.
  • Master Bath – A skylight floods the wall with light. A slim window and overhead rain shower will further increase the vertical pull of the large master bath.
  • Master Bedroom Deck – A private deck outside the master bedroom has extraordinary views of downtown. A glass rail will preserve the views and a translucent, walkable skylight in the deck will bring light into the living room bellow.
